Our story

Having owned cats (including a grumpy tabby) and dachshunds, we recognised a local need for pet sitting services.  This was following on from changes in work patterns post-pandemic - Cheshire Catz was born.

We are based in the village of Grappenhall, Warrington, supposedly, the birthplace of the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland.

Lewis Carroll may have found inspiration for the name 'Cheshire Cat' from the 16th-century sandstone carving of a grinning cat on the west face of St. Wilfrid's Church tower here in Grappenhall village which is five miles from his birthplace in Daresbury, Cheshire.
